Somerville Bathroom
Posted by srselby on Apr 30, 2011 in Baths & KitchensThe bathroom in this Victorian house was in sad shape before the renovation. The toilet was stuck in a corner, the old clawfoot tub took up more than its fair-share of space, and hid the window, making the space dark. The new plan creates more space, reveals the window, allowing lots of natural light in. Our client wanted the floor to be interesting, but using a lot of accent tiles wasn’t in the budget. A few accent tiles add just enough interest. Note that the tiles are placed on the diagonal; this not only makes a space appear larger, it is a good idea for rooms that may not have plumb walls.
